Scientific Simulation Director (microbiology) at Labster
Copenhagen, DK
Your Mission
You will help our amazing team in creating the next generation of 3D education solutions and expand our biology catalogue. As the ideal candidate you are imaginative and creative and you have good writing skills. You can't do everything yourself so being a team player and communicating with the rest of the team is essential (don’t worry, we are geeks but super nice!).

You are definitely a bit of a perfectionist, but no worries, that is an advantage! Changing the world is not an easy task and those details are what make the difference. Fast learning and being able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment are great qualities to have as Labster is growing exponentially, so be ready for quick changes. Also, organization is key for us, you will have a lot of responsibilities, and you must be able to prioritize and make fast decisions.

Your responsibilities

  • Writing the “simulation flow” of story line for biology simulations to expand our existing catalogue, using your imagination to design the most amazing virtual experience for high-school and university students, while also including theory and quiz questions. It's almost like writing a movie script.
  • Assisting content developers during the development of your simulation, and ensuring an amazing result. Details matter when you are aiming to change the world!
  • Communicating with our 3D art team, explaining to them how your simulation should look and designing 3D animations that will help students understand science at the atomic level.
  • Ensuring that the content of your simulation is scientifically accurate, the language is correct and the quality of the simulation meets Labster’s standards, with an emphasis on multimedia learning to make students “learn while having fun”.

  • Strong passion for science
  • A degree in biology (microbiology or physiology & anatomy)
  • Excellent written and spoken English (we'd love to see an example of your writing)
  • Science communication and teaching experience is not a requirement but a big plus
  • Interest in VR and multimedia

What do we offer?

  • Work from the amazing office in Copenhagen (we are proudly a part of Rainmaking Loft ecosystem)
  • We provide a friendly and productive work environment with fun, smart, open-minded international team members
  • You will have the opportunity to take a part in very exciting projects and to  work for a company with a noble vision
  • A fun and challenging opportunity to work for an exciting company with no dull corporate lifestyle
About Labster

At Labster we are dedicated to empowering the next generation of scientists to change the world. Our goal is to develop fully interactive software that makes learning both engaging and effective, and to make it accessible to as many students as possible. We are partnering with major publishers and other EdTech companies and just recently announced our partnership with Google.

We govern ourselves by using a flat-hierarchy system called Holacracy that is focused on roles, collaboration and distributed leadership. We believe in flexible work hours and a good work-life balance, and while we love to achieve great things via concentrated work, it’s incredibly important for us to have happy and engaged team members.
