Head of Business Intelligence at Kaia Health

In 2016 we set out with the mission to make effective, evidence-based therapies available to patients who suffer from chronic diseases. As back pain is the number one cause of disability worldwide with over 1 billion affected people, we built our first product, a clinically-proven mind-body therapy app, to help people with back pain.  
The role encompasses:
As our user base is growing and business problems are becoming increasingly complex, we are looking for an experienced and driven Head of Business Intelligence to take over the ownership of our analytics stack and helps everyone at Kaia make data-driven decisions. While you will be working hands-on a lot initially, you will also be given the opportunity to build a world-class team.
  • Discover data needs and formulate a data strategy by coordinating with all internal stakeholders
  • Evangelize for a data-driven culture and make analytics available to each Kaia employee to support data-driven decision making on every level
  • Take over the ownership of our Snowplow-based analytics stack, maintain it, extend it with the right tools and integrations, and build reporting dashboards
  • Design data models and work closely with our Product, Backend, and Mobile teams to ensure high data quality
  • Discover user behaviour patterns and create new business opportunities by means of explorative analytics and predictive modelling
  • Build a team of equally strong data engineers, data analysts, and data scientists to work in a matrixed product organization
We are looking for somebody who has: 
  • Strong experience in Business Intelligence in a fast growing technology venture ideally with a mobile product
  • Strong quantitative skills and analytical mindset with academic training in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, or equivalent practical experience
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python
  • Experience building data visualization solutions for users with non-technical background
  • High EQ and excellent communication skills in english
Ideally you also have:
  • Previously setup or led a strong analytics team before
  • Experience with some of the following tools: Snowplow, Redash, Mode, Tableau, Looker
  • Experience in maintaining and scaling a self-hosted analytics stack (we need to be HIPAA compliant)
  • Experience in predictive modelling and machine learning
