Regional Director (North America) at ROLI

ROLI is looking for a motivated Regional Director to lead the development of our competitive sales and marketing strategies in North America. As our Regional Director (North America), you will be a part of driving the realisation of our global growth potential and establishing ROLI as an industry leading brand.

As our product range has grown, we’ve become not only the lead innovator within the professional musical instrument market (Seaboard RISE) but also a company of mass appeal to the consumer music maker (BLOCKS). As a core member of our global leadership team, you will be responsible for building a local, high growth sales and marketing engine through our existing musical instruments and new consumer channels.

This is a unique opportunity to be a part of a disruptive category of music making devices we are creating called ‘Connected Music’ - a network of hardware and software, platform and developer products that will revolutionise how music is made.

What you’ll do:  

  • Develop and implement a sales and marketing strategy across North America within all available channels: 
    • Build a multichannel approach that maximises our channel sales opportunities as well as complementing our direct sales strategy
    • Own North America sales revenue and gross margin targets
    • Track and manage the weekly and monthly sales reporting process including analyzing and reporting measurements such as orders, sales, revenue, margin and actual progress to annual goal
    • Manage and implement sales strategies and account planning with the key retail partners in North America, including the MI, CE, Specialty (e.g Education), and Mass channels
    • Uncover and acquire new business as well as build business within existing accounts
    • Work cross-functionally and ensure our product roadmap and sales growth plan are aligned
    • Balance capital needs with growth speed (e.g. upfront channel investment)
    • Develop key relationships and strong communication with the internal ROLI team as well as external stakeholders including retail executives, buyers and international distributors 
  • Develop and maintain a network of distributors that offer regional channel growth with speed (for all channels):
    • Tailor distributor requirements to both geography and our objectives
    • Assess and select relevant distributors in each market
    • Manage and track the performance of our distributor network
    • Deliver the best value to ROLI through managing channel margins and operational efficiencies 
  • Plan and implement a marketing strategy that supports sell through and builds brand awareness:
    • Increase awareness, consideration and conversion
    • Drive a channel marketing strategy that is successful in execution for local markets
    • Develop and maintain scalable sales training
    • Oversee an effective range of point-of-sales displays within the Americas
    • Coordinate cross-functionally with the Marketing team to ensure flawless go-to-market planning and execution for the Americas, leveraging the inherent community aspects of our products (e.g. creative outcome, social sharing)
  • Work with our Operations team to ensure US and Canada customer experiences are optimised and delivering a genuine ROLI experience
  • Build and develop a strong team with ROLI's culture at the core
  • Be a cultural ambassador of openness, accountability and inclusivity

What you’ll need:

  • Significant experience in a leadership position within the Americas musical instrument and/or consumer electronic market
  • A deep understanding of local market (Americas) conditions and operations
  • Experience of driving brand awareness both ATL and BTL
  • Experience of and passion for developing and building a world class team
  • A live and active contact network for the MI and or CE channels within North America
  • Excellent communication skills, flawless written English
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels
  • A demonstrable drive for sustainable success
  • A passion for music, technology and/or startups
