Technical Product Manager at Tessian
London, GB
At Tessian, our mission is to keep the world’s most sensitive data and systems private and secure. Our platform uses machine intelligence to understand human communication at scale, allowing us to protect some of the world’s largest organisations from threats executable by humans.

As we enter a new phase of growth, we are looking for a Technical Product Manager to help us build the next-generation of information security for the enterprise.

For us, building a modern machine learning platform for enterprise requires a paradigm shift from traditional product management. Our product team focuses on the ‘why’ and the ‘what’, and then works collaboratively with our technical engineering teams to establish the ‘how’ and our marketing team to craft the narrative. We are still early on in our journey, so there are plenty of opportunities to help define how we think about product here, the processes we create and how we measure ourselves and the impact we have.

We believe our product, whilst highly technical, should deliver a best-in-class user experience where complexity is hidden. As a Technical Product Manager you’ll be a creative, technical thinker who is as equally comfortable getting into the weeds of a specific problem as they are pulling back to ensure the product roadmap is successfully aligned to achieve our ambition mission.

As a Technical Product Manager you will:
-Work closely with technical engineering teams to launch impactful products, ensuring their successful delivery through clearly articulated requirements
-Prioritise the backlog and feature requests and think critically about what we should not build - saying ‘no’ is an important part of the job
-Communicate the roadmap successfully across the company to not only get buy in from the relevant stakeholders but also to generate excitement around what we’re building and our mission
-Understand our customer base and their problems

Although previous product management experience is not an absolute requirement, it certainly helps if you’ve helped shipped impactful products before. However we are also keen to help software engineers transition from a developer role into a Technical Product Management role.

You should be:

    • From a technical background, ideally with development experience or a computer science degree
    • Intelligent, curious and creative - priding yourself on your ability to think outside of the box
    • Interested in both the technical and commercial aspects of working for an enterprise technology company
    • Willing to be accountable for you product area and thrive under that responsibility
    • Able to lead and inspire confidence
    • A fantastic communicator

Why we think you'll love it here

    • You’ll work alongside amazing, high-performing colleagues
    • We offer a competitive salary and equity options with every role
    • Everyone gets 25 days of paid annual leave (33 days including bank holidays)
    • Company contributions are made towards your pension
    • You’ll get a brand new Macbook to work on
    • We have a communal company lunch twice a month, and regular team socials and activities

    • We offer a cycle to work scheme, eye care vouchers and childcare vouchers
