The Corporate Controller will provide overall leadership of the company's global corporate accounting, shared service center accounting, and treasury functions. This position is responsible for setting global accounting policy that is in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and ensuring that the company’s business processes are effective and efficient.


Responsibilities also include strategic oversight of our global tax function and ensure compliance with international, federal and state/local filing requirements.Finally, this role will oversee the internal control framework, ensuring that it is designed to support the company’s financial reporting objectives & risk-mitigation framework while delivering quality financial information to the business and external stakeholders on a timely basis.


This position is based in San Francisco and will manage a team based here in the US as well as Copenhagen, Denmark, Chandigarh, India and Manila, Philippines.


Business Partner

Partnering with the CFO to determine accounting and tax implications for all material business decisions; collaborate with the CFO to improve overall company performance.

Be a driven trusted business partner to the CFO, Management team and the Finance Organization

Coordinate financial analysis and reporting with FP&A

Operational Accounting & Internal Controls

Oversee the Company’s global 7-day monthly closing process (Goal), ensure that financial statements are produced in accordance with GAAP, and that the team efficiently prepares internal financial reporting, board, investor and other financial reporting that provides insights to Company management

Develop and publish financial statements and reports for executive team, shareholders and investors.

Ensure that all accounting teams (domestic, international and shared service centers) adhere to generally accepted accounting principles and the Company's global accounting policies, processes and internal controls.

Ensure that all new accounting standards are adopted, and that financial systems, controls and reporting are appropriately updated

Ensure operational and design effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting.

Work with external partners including auditors, bankers, and tax advisors to build relationships, increase the Company’s capabilities and incorporate best practices into the Accounting team and across the company

Systems and Automation

Drive continuous business process improvements through the design and implementation of new technologies, overseeing robust and accurate business requirements, reporting, and testing for all system changes impacting Accounting

Leadership and Management

Hire, retain and engage a team of high caliber professionals. Provide sound managerial guidance while also being a great coach and mentor



At least 15 years related experience, gained through a combination of public accounting and private industry experience

Prior experience scaling a company from <$100M to $250M+

At least four years of public accounting experience. Big 4 experience highly preferred

CPA required (active or inactive)

Hands-on experience implementing, using and evolving an ERP system

Middle-market, international company, shared service center & e-commerce and/or technology experience preferred

Strong understanding of process and the desire to manage and implement improvements

Proven thought leader & excellent manager/coach with a track record of high team engagement scores

A team player who makes those around him/her better

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high growth environment

Experience launching new markets from an accounting, tax, and statutory perspective preferred
