Product at Tessian
At Tessian, our mission is to keep the world’s most sensitive data and systems private and secure. Our platform uses machine intelligence to understand human communication at scale, allowing us to protect some of the world’s largest organisations from threats executable by humans.
As we enter a new phase of growth, we are looking for a Product Manager (R&D) to help us build the next-generation of information security for the enterprise.
For us, building a modern machine learning platform for enterprise requires a paradigm shift from traditional product management. Our product team focuses on the ‘why’ and the ‘what’, and then works collaboratively with our technical engineering teams to establish the ‘how’ and our marketing team to craft the narrative.
We are still early on in our journey, so there are plenty of opportunities to help define how we think about product here, the processes we create and how we measure ourselves and the impact we have.
The Tessian Theta Lab is a new team sitting within product to help Tessian establish what we should, and importantly what we shouldn’t build far before we think about starting work on it. Our mission is bold and courageous - we want to start exploring the possibilities now in addition to shipping great products on our roadmap.
The Theta Lab allows us to take on calculated strategic initiatives looking at new technologies and product areas without over committing internal resource. It allows us to prototype Tessian’s future.
As a Product Manager (R&D) you will:
-Work directly with the CTO to execute strategic initiatives
-Articulate our thesis clearly, and then write up your findings to support or dismiss it
-Build working prototypes of future products or features
-Research new markets and technologies
-Manage external contractors if their expertise can get us to an answer more quickly
We are looking for someone with development experience who prioritises getting answers quickly over writing beautiful and well tested code. You like wearing a commercial hat - you focus on the ‘why’, can critique competitors products but also talk to clients to see whether they agree with our vision of the future.
