Job Overview:

Recorded Future is looking to recruit a Senior General Ledger Accountant to assist the team in the key operational needs of the business, support the month-end close process, implement best-in-class procedure as well as drive process improvements and transformation to scale the back office function  to meet the fast-paced growth of the organization. The role is based at Recorded Future’s global HQ in Somerville, Massachusetts.

Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, this role will be a key member of the 6 person Accounting & Finance team and will have visibility to areas such as general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting requirements.   With our current growth trend, we need to build out the Accounting & Finance team. Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare journal entries
  • Prepare month-end accruals
  • Prepare month-end account reconciliations
  • Payroll - Perform day-to-day processing for biweekly payroll, conduct audits to ensure adherence to application policies and regulations, and reconcile and resolve complex payroll processing and employee payroll issues to ensure smooth payroll processing. Ensures payroll reporting and payments are compliant with company policy, generally accepted accounting principles, and federal, state and IRS regulations. Researches and interprets federal and state regulatory requirements and resolves tax, withholding, garnishment, and wage/hour issues for payroll processing.
  • Cash Management - Assist with bank activities, reconcile cash accounts and route checks for signature
  • Accounts Payable – Receive all incoming invoices, match invoices to Purchase Orders, route for approvals, enter into accounting system, prepare weekly accounts payable listing, identify vendors for payment, insure timely accurate payment of vendor invoices
  • ERP System- support the maintenance of the system as well as  the roll out of system enhancements
  • Other ad hoc projects as needed

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting, CPA is a plus
  • 3 - 5 years general accounting experience
  • Knowledge of operational accounting processes
  • Strong ability to prioritize and organize work effectively
  • Ability to  collaborate & communicate effectively with internal partners on issues and provide recommendations
  • Possess excellent attention to detail; excellent analytical, and reconciliation skills
  • Advanced PC skills, specifically with Word, and Excel spreadsheets, downloading, importing and exporting files and google suite. Experience with Netsuite, and Adaptive a plus
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects and tight deadlines.
  • Prior experience within SaaS/tech industry preferred or work with SaaS/tech clients
  • Strong problem solver, possessing the ability to see how the different pieces of the puzzle fit together
  • Ability to troubleshoot any issues that arise with the systems or data
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment.
