Operations is at the heart of our customers’ experience here at THG. We manufacture a wide range of sports nutrition and cosmetic consumer goods that we then despatch to our customers in over 200 countries worldwide from our purpose built, innovative Manufacturing and Distribution Centres.
THG is looking to recruit a Line Haul Optimisation Manager to ensure our freight and direct to consumer orders are delivered in the most efficient and cost effective way possible. This role will focus on cost, service and innovative solutions to ensure we always meet and exceed our customers’ expectations. This is an exciting but challenging role where you will be required to work with existing 3PL partners and also seek out new solutions and partners where this will benefit the business.
To ensure logistics solutions meet with targets set by the business by driving strategic initiatives
To develop new partners in both emerging and developed territories
To optimise and drive efficiencies of existing delivery lanes
To optimise the mix of costs and service in line with the business expectations
To continuously and sustainably ensure that THG’s customers experience the best possible service from our partners
To propose and design logistics processes and solutions that aim to improve business deliverables
Monitor current network and key partners as well as negotiate service deliverables and cost savings
Organise regular BD meetings with senior counterparts from our supply network in relation to delivery
Maintain current knowledge of relevant legislation, political situations and other factors that could affect the movement of freight
Develop excellent working relationships with our global 3PLs
To be considered for this role you should have
An excellent understanding of the land and air line haul market and a good network of contacts with the main line haul companies.
Experience with Llamasoft or similar network modelling /optimization tools.
Excellent communication skills
Strong excel and analytical skills
Good organisational and planning skills
Good geographical knowledge
Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances
Ability to solve problems and work under pressure
Accuracy and attention to detail
