2019 Summer IT Internship at Credit Benchmark

We are offering a paid full time IT internship opportunity in the summer of 2019 for undergraduate candidates from leading universities. The position is for people interested in Data Science and Financial Markets and will be based at our London office.

The intern will work closely with our Data, Product and Research teams as part of the wider Development Team. Exact responsibilities will be agreed in discussion with the successful candidate and will include a mixture of day-to-day responsibilities and also longer-term projects. The key areas of focus are:   

  • Work as part of a scrum team and participate in daily scrums
  • Ticket quoting to determine technical direction and complexity of feature implementation
  • Write technical documentation describing changes to be made and review with senior-level developer
  • Work with senior-level developers to add new features to existing applications
  • Work with QA team to test the change
  • Write code to implement the changes                           
  • Data analysis and production of client-ready analytical studies from the Credit Benchmark datasets
  • Day-to-day liaising and integration with the core team to complete key priorities

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Penultimate or final year undergraduate candidate at a leading school
  • Excellent academic record (must be on track/attained a minimum of 2:1 or equivalent) and a high level of analytical skills
  • Eagerness and passion to learn
  • High level of motivation and drive
  • Very strong written and spoken English; additional languages a plus. Ability to work within the EU is required
  • Strong interest in data science, finance and technology
  • Available for 2 months during the summer of 2019
  • Knowledge of programming languages  (C#, HTML, Javascript, CSS, PHP, Python, NET, etc)
  • Windows programming with Visual Studio or similar
  • Knowledge of relational databases (MSSQL, SQL, or equivalent)
