Director of Sales Engineering, APJ at Recorded Future

The Role

Recorded Future is looking for a highly-motivated Director of Sales Engineering to lead a team of talented sales engineers and managers supporting the Asia Pacific Japan (APJ) Sales team in a high growth and rapidly scaling landscape. Strong technical acumen in multiple security technologies is a must, as well as prior extensive experience leading and growing SE teams. An ability to “lead from the front” and a willingness to act as both player and coach to help your team secure the technical win will be key to your success. 

This role will report directly to the Worldwide VP of Presales and will partner closely with Sales Directors and Sales VP’s to drive Security business success. As one of the largest data science companies, Security Threat Intelligence business in Americas is growing.  We’re adding new customers every year and being recognized by analysts.

 

Responsibilities

There are currently multiple specialized individuals driving technical wins, strong customer relationships & thought leadership across APJ for Security business. The leader of this team will drive a coordinated and consistent approach in the team’s operating model. An emphasis on proactive sales partnership, building strong security engineers and growing technical relationships with our customers will be at the forefront of this role.

 

An example of major responsibilities and deliverables are provided below:

  • Leading and directing the Security Presales Team ensuring effectiveness of sales lifecycle support in a consistent operating model
  • Proactive support of the APJ Leader in achieving revenue targets
  • Serving as a thought leader and company subject matter expert in own expertise area (portfolios and markets)

  • Be a coach! Become an expert in our best in breed security solutions, enable your team with our world class training, and provide 1:1 coaching and development at every opportunity

  • Put your individual contributor hat on when needed, engage with customers, and help formulate strategies for strategic accounts to help win deals and drive execution.
  • Partner with other groups (e.g. Professional Services, Support, Product) to help us continue our tradition of an outstanding customer experience

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years leading a Presales organization or technical selling organization related to Security
  • Understanding of Security technologies – Security Operations, SIEM, Vulnerability Assessment, Orchestration and Automation Solutions and more
  • Demonstrated ability to drive program results, hit deadlines, & measure team effectiveness
  • Exceptional interpersonal, team building, mentoring, and leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to gain the confidence and respect of senior level executives.
  • Demonstrated willingness to take risks & make adjustments quickly.
  • Executive-level verbal and written communication skills.
  • Managing cross functionally and working closely with Business Units to formulate go-to-market and product plans for the respective advanced technologies
  • CISSP and related certifications are strongly preferred
  • Travel: estimated 33%
