UI Designer at Mimiro
London, GB

Create the visual design for digital products (used to make complex decisions by financial services organisations)

  • Use visual design to clearly communicate fundamental concepts such as visual hierarchy and navigation
  • Detailed design tasks such as selecting colours, pairing typefaces, and setting web page or app menu layouts
  • Ability to deliver pixel-precise visual designs and assets using common industry tools e.g. Adobe Photoshop, Sketch or others
  • Knowledge of common standards and guidelines for UI design, including responsive design, WAI accessibility guidelines

Create consistent templates for UI layout, navigation and content

  • Interpret correct use of branding guidelines in the UI context - extend rather than be constrained by these in creating suitable standards for UI design
  • Experience of working with and creating assets for pattern libraries/design systems used by UX designers and developers
  • Awareness of the design challenges of work systems- how designing for people at work differs from B2C and app design.

Work alongside UX designers to explore design problems, implement findings from user research and refine solutions

  • Ability to collaborate on solutions in hand-drawn sketches and low fidelity wireframes
  • Observe user research and absorb outputs, synthesize into design solutions
  • Experience creating rapid prototypes for testing using tools such as Sketch, Axure, etc

Work alongside developers, product managers, marketing, content writers etc. to create and implement suitable solutions - this role requires real cross team collaboration

  • Deliver timely visual design solutions (e.g. visualisations and build assets) in suitable formats for implementation by developers
  • Experience delivering work as part of sprint-based teams
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, javascript – ability to work in these a plus

We would like to see concrete examples of:

  • Work in B2B or enterprise technology environments - not just B2C marketing sites and mobile apps
  • Taking a digital design project from early conceptual design through to build
  • Examples of working in Agile, or pseudo Agile environments
  • Evidence of working closely with developers and other team members
