Mountain/Road Bike Buying executive - ProBikeKit at The Hut Group

PURPOSE OF ROLE

  • To deliver a customer focused offer for the Mountain and Road Bike categories that delivers the financial, brand and share targets of the business.

REQUIREMENTS

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Management of the supply base for brands such as Shimano, Lezyne, SRAM and Camelback, to maximise all KPI’S including sales, margin, stock and P&L targets
  • Develop ranges and the overall product offer
  • Identification and sourcing of new suppliers to drive growth
  • Source and negotiate the best prices to deliver revenue and margin targets
  • Forecasting, allocation, and stock replenishment to maximise sales and conversion
  • Negotiation of exclusive product offers
  • Negotiation of trade marketing and rebates from suppliers
  • Build and deliver joint business plans in conjunction with suppliers for mutual benefit
  • Complete regular competitor analysis to ensure our ranges and prices are competitive
  • Assist in the management of administration and product set up on the department providing accurate data to ensure processes are completed in line with critical path
  • Analyse performance by product type throughout the season highlighting any gaps in the range as well as any opportunities
  • Liaise with the trading team to make sure all products, ranges, and promotions are planned and presented in the best possible way
  • Stock management and support in developing the improvement of our replenishment model driving availability

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCES AND COMPETENCIES

  • Buying Experience direct with brands and distributors
  • Good Negotiation Skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Passion for the product with good knowledge of the cycling customer.
  • Experienced Microsoft office user, especially Excel
  • Excellent commercial & analytical skills. Numbers focused

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

 

 

  • Knowledge of the Mountain Bike market
  • Understanding online marketing channels such as email promotion, affiliates, and social media for domestic and international markets
  • Established supplier relationships
