Food and Beverage Assistant - Great John Street Hotel at The Hut Group

Great John Street Hotel opened in 2005. Only a stone’s throw from Manchester’s most exclusive shopping areas, restaurants and theatres, this original Victorian school house has been transformed into a chic townhouse hotel with 30 unique, individually designed bedrooms and suites alongside with stylish lounges and Oyster Bar. The Old School House also boasts stunning entertainment rooms and terraces available for exclusive use for tailor made events.

 

Applicants must have previous experience and knowledge of food and beverage. The Food and Beverage Assistant will be responsible for working in all areas of food and beverage as needed to deliver an excellent guest experience. The ideal candidate must be able to work using their own initiative and be able to prioritise their workload. They will also be required to work a flexible shift pattern which includes evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Responsibilities 

  • Able to work in all areas of Food & Beverage including Bar, Restaurant, Room Service and Conference & Events
  • Welcome guests in a polite and friendly manner
  • Take and deliver customer orders, consistently demonstrating high levels of customer service
  • Prepare set ups for tables and/or rooms
  • Follow cash handling procedures
  • Manage guest queries in a timely and efficient manner
  • Up-sell with latest departmental incentives
  • Ensure compliance of brand standards
  • Strive to achieve departmental targets
  • Ensure cleanliness of work areas
  • Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation
  • Comply with local licensing laws
  • Be environmentally aware
  • Assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships

REQUIREMENTS
