Country Manager - Southern Europe at Lyst

ROLE OVERVIEW

The position is part of the “International tribe”, a recently-created and fast-growing team in charge of launching and growing Lyst in non-English speaking markets. Reporting to the newly appointed SVP International, you will be responsible for growing Lyst’s Italian and Spanish businesses, launched in May 2018.

This is a unique opportunity to make a large impact on a fast-growing start-up, with a high degree of autonomy to craft and execute locally relevant strategies on both the demand and supply side.

At a high level, you will fully own and manage the P&L for Italy and Spain. Using a data-driven, “test & learn” approach, you will identify and drive a number of initiatives on the demand and supply side to grow Lyst in Southern Europe. You will be supported by two dedicated PR/Communications Leads and one supply coordinator (all reporting to the role), as well as central Marketing and Supply teams that you will closely partner with to achieve your objectives.

A particular focus will be on supply expansion to ensure Lyst has partnerships with suppliers most relevant to Italian and Spanish consumers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define and execute growth strategy for Italy & Spain, identifying opportunities on both the demand and supply side
  • Own Italy & Spain’s P&L, including day-to-day performance management to achieve financial targets
  • Work closely with central Marketing teams (including SEM and SEO) to define and monitor marketing strategies and performance
  • Drive supply acquisition end-to-end to increase local relevance in the local markets - from target identification to negotiation of commercial agreements
  • Increase local awareness of Lyst through targeted PR/Comms campaigns
  • Understand local consumer preferences and feed into Product roadmap
  • Build and nurture relationships with partners, affiliate networks and the press
  • Manage and coach a team (currently three direct reports; likely to expand in the future)

REQUIREMENTS

  • Native/fluent in at least Spanish or Italian (ideally both), knowledge of the local business culture
  • Interest in fashion and some knowledge of local fashion brands, retailers and publications preferred
  • At least 3 years of proven work experience; experience in management consulting, VC or high growth firms (ideally ecommerce) particularly relevant
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: from hypothesis generation to data analysis and recommendations
  • Advanced Excel (required), experience with BI solutions such as Tableau or Looker (preferred)
  • Adaptable, resourceful, comfortable working in a fast-paced and fast-changing environment
  • Result-oriented, self-motivated, proactive
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong business acumen
  • Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally and influencing stakeholders who don’t report to the role
  • Strong negotiation skills - prior experience interacting with third parties a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong project management skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once in a complex matrix environment
  • Management experience, ability to coach/motivate a team (preferred)
