Prodigy Finance is a platform that enables financing for international postgraduate students at the world’s best universities, whilst delivering competitive financial and social returns to alumni, institutional and private investors.
This borderless and innovative model enables education loan financing to students from across the globe, whilst using predicted post-degree affordability rather than present-day salary. Since 2007, Prodigy Finance has extended over US$800 million through the platform to fund over 16,000 students from over 150 countries.
Our team of over 200 (and growing) is already truly global. Our head office is in London with much of the team being based in beautiful Cape Town. We also have an office in New York plus team members based across Europe and Asia.
We are funded by some of the best, pre-eminent institutions in the world including Index Ventures, Balderton Capital, RMIH, Credit Suisse and Deutsche Bank.

We are a small non-hierarchical team; this means that you are going to get exposure to all aspects of our business immediately. You’ll gain as much accountability as you can handle and have a huge influence on scaling the company.

What you will do in the role
We're looking for a super smart leader to join our Sales and Marketing team. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys engaging with customers, building and leading teams and finding meaningful insights from data to do both. The ideal candidate will not only help us convert a higher number of our applicants, but help us improve our overall customer experience in the process.
Reporting into the Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, this is a new function at Prodigy Finance that will work closely with the Marketing, Product, Data & Analytics and Operations teams to develop an outbound engagement approach based on conversion funnel analysis, segmentation modeling and direct customer feedback.
Responsibilities will include:
Building and leading an outbound sales conversion team;
Driving improved conversion between loan application stages and increases in overall lending volumes;
Working with CSMO to set sales strategy - who to target, when and how;
Setting daily / weekly / monthly goals/targets for team members, and managing to these goals;
Working with Prodigy Finance’s operations team on segmentation analysis and contact management best-practice including, but not limited to use of industry leading CRM tools;
Working closely with product and marketing teams to share insights from inside sales activities that support improvements to the customer experience

Sales and sales management with a particular focus on consultative processes and warm lead management

Strong attention to detail
Multi-tasker: you’re comfortable managing multiple projects and campaigns across different channels, working on everything from setup to scheduling, budgets, tracking, and analysis.
Relationship builder: able to build and foster excellent working relationships across a number of teams including Marketing, Business Development, and Product
Able to translate insights about our customers into potential digital activity and campaigns
Able to work and learn quickly in a fast paced, fun and dynamic environment
Self Starter; motivated by a fast-paced environment; a growth mindset
Who we are looking for; track record must haves
8+ years successful work experience with increasing levels of experience including 3+ years management experience building/leading a team
Experience in a similar role (ie leading an inside sales team / comprehensive understanding of the sales administration process)
Track record of achieving / exceeding targets in a management position
Experience in a high volume / short sales cycle environment required
Hands on experience with CRM tools
Strong analytical and organisational skills
Numerical abilities and problem-solving attitude
Experience that would be nice to have (but we’ll trade off if everything else fits)
Start-up experience. Sometimes the earth moves beneath your feet at Prodigy Finance so you've got to be comfortable with ambiguity, able to wear lots of hats, and adapt easily as you set up processes and frameworks for us to grow into. If you haven’t worked in a start-up before, you need to show us that you have a real desire and potential to be successful in a young, high-growth, non-corporate company
Experience working in a compliance regulated environment, particularly with consumer financial services
Experience in a lending business
