QA Lead at Aircall

At Aircall, we are looking for engaged and passionate Software Engineers to join our growing Engineering Team. In the next few years, our technical challenge is to leverage fully decoupled architecture and microservices at scale with reliable, event-driven infrastructure behind the scenes.
Volume: Store, aggregate and compute 1M+ events/day today, 100M+ by next year
Live: Analyse and take live decisions based on 1M+ events/day
Modularity: Make our stack scale and increase squads' productivity by featuring microservices based on event-driven architecture
Uptime: Keep a 99.99% uptime while dealing with an exponential activity growth
We have built and successfully operated +8 microservices since 2019, and that's just the beginning. There are impacts and changes at all levels: architecture, infrastructure, software, organization, and business.
As we scale our stack, we are scaling our team. The engineering team is organized in Chapters, Tribes and Squads. These agile, autonomous, stable, and multidisciplinary squads focus on a specific business scope driven by customer-centric objectives and key results.
As a Lead QA Engineer you will play a central role in the quality assurance of our applications and IT systems. As part of our Production team you will work closely with other colleagues on all squads, including: Developers, Engineering managers and Product managers. You must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills as you will be responsible for the quality of the product, the user experience and the development of automatic tests.

The ideal candidate for this position will be responsible for managing a team of QA Engineers in the near future.

What you will do:

    • Work closely with software engineers to ensure the continuous integration of our new features.
    • Actively participate in project meetings with product managers and engineers to anticipate up-coming project needs.
    • Provide expertise in all aspects of Software Quality and Automation
    • Design and develop automation tests with the collaboration of the engineers
    • Design and execute end-to-end test campaigns
    • Act as a promoter & advocate of QA and a good practice leader
    • Draft QA reports and metrics to follow
    • Establish test strategy and knowledge on testing processes and techniques (Functional, Integration, Regression)
    • Create / Maintain - the existing / a new, test automation framework
    • Execute a variety of tests that ensure the highest quality delivery
    • Participate in the improvement of the quality: process, tooling and methods
    • Involved / participate at all levels of the Automated testing platform
    • Contribute to agility by ensuring an efficient, automated test suite integrated in CI/CD pipeline

What we are looking for:

    • 3+ years of experience in development and strong test automation/manual experience
    • Hands on experience with test automation tools and frameworks
    • Prior experience in functional and technical (automation) testing
    • Interest in continuous integration and tools (CircleCi, Jenkins, etc)
    • Entrepreneurial spirit and know-how to identify opportunities for improvement
    • Autonomous and well organized (documentation skills)
    • Prior experience with agile development methodologies
    • Tech oriented, resourceful and curious
    • Proficient in English
    • Javascript (React) & Rubis languages knowledge is a plus
