Senior Accounting & Compliance Manager at Vivino

The Senior Accounting & Compliance Manager will have a vital role in supporting the evolution of Vivino’s financial structure. Working closely with the Assistant Controller, Finance Manager and our accounting team in India, the Senior Accounting & Compliance Manager will be responsible for assisting in the GL close process, ensuring compliance local and international agencies, managing worldwide statutory and regulatory reporting requirements, identifying process improvements, creating and managing accounting policies, improving efficiencies, and supporting the business’ rapid growth.

 

The ideal candidate will have exceptional financial skills, a great attitude, proven leadership skills, refined communication skills, and a desire to create a strong control environment that is focused on accurate and timely reporting to both the business and leadership.

 

This position reports directly to the Assistant Controller and is based in Copenhagen, Denmark. The Senior Accounting & Compliance Manager will be working with an international team including our shared service center in India, our finance team in San Francisco, as well as our operation teams spread across 10 countries and growing. Due to the international nature of the position occasional travel to San Francisco, California and Chandigarh, India will be expected. Further, given the geographical diversity of our operations, a flexible work schedule will be required.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Assist and report on the monthly close
  • Review monthly financial results for accuracy and completeness in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and International Financial Reporting Standards
  • Evaluate current processes and tools to drive efficiencies and value-added enhancements
  • Creating and maintaining a strong control environment
  • Prepare and reconcile payroll data and manage payroll related tasks over 10+ countries
  • Partner with global consultants to ensure tax, VAT and other compliance related matters are reported with accuracy and timeliness
  • Support international teams to improve reporting and efficiency
  • Partner with global accounting teams in support of statutory reporting requirements
  • Review new contracts and transactions for potential accounting issues and document findings
  • Document and maintain internal accounting policies
  • Manage an accounting and finance team in Copenhagen and India
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with business partners at all levels of the organization
  • Provide ad hoc analytical support to influence decision making from financial perspective
  • Support the annual financial statement audit and maintain excellent positive working relationship with the external auditors

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with proven ability to interact with various management levels
  • Sound knowledge of accounting/financial principles and theory
  • Understanding of US GAAP with the ability to research and interpret accounting guidance
  • Experience with Tax, including provision calculations as well as state & local tax preferred
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills, reflecting prioritization with a sense of urgency
  • Proven analytical ability, strong problem-solving skills, and a drive to learn
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a changing, fast paced environment
  • Strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
  • NetSuite and/or PBCS experience is a plus
  • CPA/RPA, master’s degree or advanced degree in accounting/finance preferred
  • 5 to 7 years of business experience in Finance, Accounting or related field, demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility
