Job Description

Our Story
Hello there. We’re Zopa.
Our diverse team is united in their mission of creating simple, fair and honest financial products that have the customer’s needs at their heart. We’re proud that this dedication is reflected in our excellent rating on TrustPilot.
We’ve always been unapologetically honest with our customers, and value the same in return. Their feedback helps us shape what we build, so we can provide a bank fit for today, and for the future.
We’re not the new kids on the block though - we’ve been a pioneering force in finance for 16 years. In 2005, we built the first ever peer-to-peer (P2P) lending company, giving our customers access to loans built for real-life and intelligent investments backed by cutting-edge tech. In 2020, we launched Zopa Bank, meaning we could offer more – like fixed term savings backed by FSCS protection and a credit card to help customers take control of their finances.
Today, our bank and our P2P business run alongside each other, with the same ethos and the same mission. We’ve lent out over £6 billion and are proud to have made money work better for over half a million people across the UK, whether they were looking to borrow, save or invest.
If you embrace being challenged beyond the norm, aren’t afraid to think differently and are motivated by working somewhere you can really make an impact, you’ll love life here at Zopa.

Working across the breadth of our tech organization, and beyond, you’ll bring your extensive Jira best practices, to assist our adoption and ramp up our expertise in the Jira platform. With a keen eye on innovation and scale, you’ll work with business and tech stakeholders, product owners, project managers and team leads with a view to enabling our product, development and systems operations teams to effectively use Jira as our central project management platform across the company.

We would love to work with you if:

You don’t see problems, you solve them: ‘The problem with that’ is not something you ever start a response with. Able to think outside the box, you see opportunities and suggest solutions to business problems before diving in to implement them.
You like perfection but realize it's often not possible: You are able to compromise with your fellow stakeholders to offer a solution that meets their needs even if it isn’t your preferred approach.
Proactivity runs through your veins: Your highly tuned spidey-sense has you catching issues before they happen and you are reaching out to stakeholders to help them with things they didn’t even know they needed help with.
You’re curious and love to learn: Whether it’s the latest technology, how the Foolish business operates, or investing; you have an insatiable appetite for knowledge. And you love to share with your fellow Fools – dropping links in Slack is like breathing for you.
You take pride in your work: The thought of a customer seeing a 500 error page keeps you up at night. When a member cancels, it brings a tear to your eye. You want to ensure that every customer has a great experience with The Motley Fool because of what you build.

A day in the life:

Use deep technical expertise and experience in Jira and related Atlassian technologies to help our transition from Trello and ensure we use Jira following best practices and scalable strategies.
Serve as a subject matter expert on Jira to field questions and provide hands-on support to product teams as they move forward with adoption of Jira tools and practices.
Develop JIRA workflows, customizations, integrations and to support teams’ workflows on behalf of project management and leadership teams
Develop effective dashboards and reporting to support leadership and project teams.
Mentor other Fools, sharing best practices to help guide teams to technical excellence in using Jira and related technologies.
Identify and build relationships with the key stakeholders and teams to foster collaboration in working to solutions and ultimately enhance the lives of everyone touching our Jira platform.
Help to proactively communicate our Jira vision and collaborate at all levels: Business leads and Technical Leadership (DevOps, DBAs,Infosec, WPT, Engineering/Infrastructure, and Development ) teams to ensure a cohesive and consistent approach.
Help execute on that vision with hands-on design, implementation, mentorship and team building as we grow

About you:

You have a strong background in project management.
Are comfortable being referred to as a Jira expert and can demonstrate the same.
Demonstrable experience in analyzing existing project management workflows in other tools such as Trello, Youtrack or ServiceNow, and implementing them on the Jira platform.
Strong experience understanding key metrics and developing the Jira dashboards and reporting that provide intuitive, useful information for different audiences.
Top-notch solution-oriented, customer-facing attitude able to proactively communicate at all levels.
Excellent track record of building relationships with stakeholders and business partners to ensure their needs are represented in the finished work.
Agile experience is also a huge plus
